Officer Involved Shooting: C17-278773
On December 12, 2017, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a call for service at a residence in the 400 block of Charles Street.
Arriving general patrol units were confronted by a male at this location. An adult male at the residence was shot by police. He was transported to hospital, where he remains critical condition. No officers were injured.
The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba has been notified.
Shot Fired - Investigation: C17-274678
On December 11, 2017 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Winnipeg Police responded to the report of a shot heard in the 300 block of Alfred Avenue. General Patrol members, Air-1, a Canine unit and the Tactical Support Team responded.
It was determined that an unknown number of suspects attended to a residence and when denied access they fired at least one shot, from an undetermined firearm, through the front of the residence. No one was injured as a result.
The Winnipeg Police identification Unit attended and processed the scene.

Drug Arrest: R17-10058
On December 11, 2017, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Division 11 General Patrol officers were in 400 block of Sargent Ave. speaking with a male regarding a Highway Traffic Act infraction when he fled from police.
The male was apprehended a short distance away and placed him under arrest. It was determined that the male had 3 outstanding arrest warrants. Police also located a quantity of methamphetamine with a street value of $200, and a quantity of marihuana.
Jessie Emile DUMAS, 25, of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Warrant of Arrest x 3
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance (Marihuana)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance
for the Purpose (Methamphetamine)
- Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was detained in custody.
