Firearms – Arrest: C17-254344
 
During the day of November 10, 2017, members of the Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and Community Support Units, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Magnus Avenue. Investigators were targeting a suspect male they believed was in possession of an illegal firearm.
 
A number of individuals were located inside the residence and were taken into custody. The investigation has led to the seizure of a number of items including the following:
 
- A 12-gauge pump-action shotgun with both the barrel and stock sawed-off.
- A .45-70 lever-action rifle with both the barrel and stock sawed-off.
- 18 12-gauge shotgun shells.
- 22 .45-70 cartridges.
 
Stevie Ray Ballantyne, a 25-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x4)
- Careless Storage of Firearm (x2)
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations (x2)
- Possession of a Weapon (x2)
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x2)
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition (x2)
- Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime (x2)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
 
He was detained in custody.
