Suspicious Incident Investigation: C17-255763
This morning, the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a suspicious incident that occurred in the Crestview neighbourhood.
At approximately 9:25 a.m., a 17-year-old female was walking in the 400 block of Hamilton Avenue when a vehicle approached her from behind. The vehicle stopped a short distance ahead of her and the driver rolled down the passenger window, asking the female if she wanted a ride.
When the female replied no, the male exited driver's door and asked if she was sure. He closed his door and remained outside the vehicle. The female ran from the area and police were contacted.
The male is described as being East Indian in appearance, 40 years old, with light brown skin and a medium build. He is approximately 5'9" in height with short black hair, a short black thick bear and was wearing a black jacket. He did not have an accent.
The vehicle is described as an older model 4-door grey car with a "boxy" design, black handles and black trim. No licence plate was obtained.
Limited information is available at this time and the Winnipeg Police Service continues to investigate the incident.
