Suspicious Person: C17-183237
On August 17, 2017, a 36-year-old female contacted Winnipeg Police and advised that she was the victim of an attempted abduction. At approximately 5:30 a.m., she was walking in the area of St. Annes Rd. and Alpine Ave. when a van pulled up and a male passenger offered her a ride. She refused and was ordered to get into the van. The male then grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her into the van. A pedestrian walked by at which time the suspect male released the victim and the van sped off.
   
The van is described as: dark blue, older style.
   
The passenger is described as: male, Indigenous in appearance, approximately 35 years of age, 5'9" in height with an average build, medium length shaggy dark hair, dark coloured eyes, no facial hair and pock marked cheeks.
   
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
