The victim has now been identified.
   
As previously released:
   
On July 14, 2017, at approximately 1:40 a.m., emergency services personnel responded to the intersection of Main Street and Polson Avenue for a report of an injured/unresponsive female located in the roadway.
   
The female was transported to a hospital where she remains in critical, but stable condition. The mechanism of injury is unknown at this time, but the preliminary evidence does not suggest a motor vehicle collision.
   
Investigators have not been able to ascertain the identity of the victim. She is described as Indigenous in appearance, approximately 25-years-of-age. 5'2" in height, slim build, with wavy brown coloured hair in a bun. In addition the victim has 'Marcus' tattooed in script on her left inner forearm.
   
Anyone with information regarding this incident, or the possible identity of the victim, is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-7085 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
