Homicide Investigation – Update: C17-161171
The victim in Friday's homicide has been identified as:

Trevor BODNAREK (aka: Trevor DESJARLAIS), 27.

As previously released:    
On July 21, 2017, at approximately 10:00 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the 700 block of Selkirk Avenue for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The male was transported to the hospital in critical condition; however, he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Robbery & Assaults – Arrest: C17-162040
On July 22, 2017, investigators from the Major Crimes Unit arrested two suspects in relation to a string of violent offences that occurred late that evening.

Tonisha Shylene FAVEL, 21, of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Robbery x 3
- Assault

Matthew John DELORME, 23, of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Robbery x 3

Both accused were detained in custody. The charges stem from the following incidents:

On July 22, 2017 at approximately 10:55 p.m.,  a 25-year-old female customer was at a restaurant in the 2700 block of Pembina Highway when she was assaulted without provocation by an unknown female. The victim suffered minor injuries.

On July 22, 2017 at approximately 11:00 p.m.,  a 16-year-old male was riding his bicycle in the area of Pembina Highway and Dalhousie Street when he was confronted by male and female suspects. Without provocation, the 16-year-old was assaulted and knocked off his bike. The assault continued while the victim was on the ground. The suspects fled stealing the victim's bicycle and personal property. The victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

On July 22, 2017 at approximately 11:15 p.m., a 16-year-old-female was in the same area when she was confronted by male and female suspects. The male suspect grabbed the victim's phone and assaulted her in the upper body. The victim was knocked to the ground and was further assaulted. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Finally, on July 22, 2017 at approximately 11:45 p.m., a fourth victim, an adult female in her forties, was at a retail store in the 2100 block of Pembina Highway when she was confronted by a male and female who demanded her phone. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit were in the area investigating the three previous incidents and were able to arrest the two suspects as they were attempting to rob the victim.

Robbery/Weapons - Arrest: C170162305
On July 21, 2017 at approximately 4:20 a.m., the residents of a home in the 5600 block of Rannock Ave. reported their residence being entered and being robbed and pepper sprayed by an unknown male. The male fled in a vehicle belonging to one of the persons in the home. 

On July 23, 2017 at approximately 6:30 a.m., the residents of a home in the first 100 block of Wendon Way reported two persons forced their way into their residence, one armed with a firearm, and assaulted two of the residents. The suspects fled with personal property belonging to the victims. 

One of the victims suffered minor injuries. A second victim was transported to hospital and treated for numerous lacerations and bruising.  

On July 23, 2017 at 7:30 a.m., two youth males contacted police and advised that they had been riding their bikes in the area of Aberdeen Ave. and Salter St. when an unknown male pointed a firearm at them, ordered them to get off of their bikes, and chased them a short distance. The victims managed to escape without being injured.

On the same date officers located and arrested two youth males and a youth female.

An 18-year-old male has been arrested and charged with 20 various offences including: Assault with a Weapon, Armed Robbery X2, Break, Enter and Commit Robbery X2, Theft Over $5000, Assault with a Weapon, Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence and 12 firearm related offences. 

A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged with Break, Enter and Commit Robbery X2, Armed Robbery X2, Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence and Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking X2.

A 17-year-old female has been arrested and charged with Break, Enter and Commit Robbery X2, Armed Robbery X2, Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.

Officers have recovered the stolen vehicle, a sawed off 12-gauge shotgun with defaced serial number, a can of bear mace, and some of the personal items stolen.
