Firearm – Arrests: C17-69005
 
On April 6, 2017, at approximately 8 a.m., two adult males entered a taxicab in the 2100 block of Gallagher Avenue and asked to be driven to a nearby address.
 
While travelling, one male removed a sawed-off shotgun from a bag and provided it to the other male who concealed the firearm.
 
Upon arrival at the 1200 block of Alexander Avenue, the male accidentally discharged the firearm into his lower body as he attempted to exit the cab. The first male fled with the firearm as the cab drove the injured male to a nearby hospital.
 
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service entered into an investigation and placed the injured male under arrest.
 
Sean Roy Martin, a 24-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with a number of firearm-related offences and fail to comply probation order.
 
On June 14, 2017, the outstanding male was located in the 1200 block of Alexander Avenue and was placed under arrest.
 
Mark Douglas Rodgers, a 25-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with a number of firearm-related offences.
 
Both have been detained in custody.
 
Suspicious Male – Arrest: C17-129430
 
On June 14, 2017, at approximately 5:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police were alerted to a suspicious male who appeared to be looking into yards and vehicles in the area of Hart Avenue and Beatrice Street. Members of general patrol attended and located the suspect male in the immediate area where he was taken into custody. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was carrying a backpack which contained stolen property and weapons, including two machetes, a baton and a BB gun. He further falsely identified himself to arresting officers. 
 
Maciej Wladyslaw WIKA, 42-years-old, of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:
 
- Possess Weapon x4
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking x2
- Identity Theft
 
Stabbing – Investigation: C17-130153
 
On June 14, 2017 at approximately 9:40 p.m., a 17-year-old male was walking in the 200 block of Oakland Avenue when he was confronted by at least two people. The victim was struck in the upper extremities and then stabbed in the upper body several times. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services attended and the victim was transported to hospital in critical condition. He has since been upgraded to stable condition. 
 
No arrests have been made. The investigation continues. 
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
