Weapon – Arrests: C1781744
   
On April 22, 2017, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a large group of youths fighting in the parking lot of Woodhaven Park Community Club located at 200 Glendale Boulevard. Police were told there were approximately 100 youths in the parking lot, and that one person was armed with a shotgun.
   
General Patrol units conducted at a high-risk traffic stop of an SUV believed to be related to the incident on the St. James Bridge. Seven occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged. The accused are a female youth, three male youths, as well as three adult males.
   
Police recovered a prohibited shotgun, two pellet guns and two cans of pepper spray from the vehicle.
   
The seven accused are facing various criminal charges including:
 - Point Firearm
 - Possess Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
 - Possess Weapon
 - Possess Unauthorized Firearm
 - Careless Use of Firearm
   
The adult males charged are:
 - Charles KANIKI, 18
 - Keanu OLIVEIRA, 19
 - Abdullahi MOHAMED, 28
   
All seven accused were detained in custody. There were no reported injuries.
   
   
Robbery : C17-82640
   
On April 22, 2017 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a 22 year-old male victim was waiting for a bus on Vaughn Street near Portage Avenue when he was approached by two males. One suspect grabbed the victim's personal property from his hand and the second suspect demanded the victim's money. The first suspect then produced a handgun and threatened the victim. Both suspects feld on foot.
   
Suspect number one is described as:
Male, Aboriginal in appearance
18 - 23 years fo age
Slim build
5'9" in height
Long hair
   
Suspect number two is described as:
Male, Aborigial in appearance
Slim Build
6'3" in height
   
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
   
   
Robbery : C17-82640
   
On April 23, 2017 at approximately 1:00 a.m. a 23-year-old female was riding her bicycle in the area of Kildare Avenue East and Gable Court when a vehicle pulled up beside her. When the victim stopped her bike, a male exited the vehicle and pointed a small hand gun at her head. After taking the victim's personal property, the male got back into the vehicle and left the scene.
   
The suspect is described as:
Caucasian male
17 - 25 years of age
5"8 - 6' in height
Thin build
   
The vehicle is described as a mid-size, dark colored, 4 door car.
