Assault with a Weapon - Arrest: C17-86884
On April 27, 2017 at approximately 10:05 p.m. Winnipeg Police General Patrol members responded to the report of two females fighting outside, in the area of 1800 Ellice Avenue.  Police located a 34-year-old female with a laceration to her side. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment.
   
Winnipeg Police arrested Marsha WOOD, 26 years of Garden Hill, Manitoba. She was been charged with:

Assault with a Weapon
Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition,
Fail to Comply with Probation Order


Pursuit/Motor Vehicle Collision –Arrest – C17-86892   
On April 27, 2017 at approximately 10:15 p.m., general patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of Powers Street and Magnus Avenue operating in an erratic manner and at a high rate of speed.
   
A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Magnus Avenue and McGregor Street. As officers approached the vehicle, it fled and a pursuit ensued.
   
The pursuit continued for a short time until the vehicle disobeyed a stop-sign at a high rate of speed and struck a cruiser car at the intersection of Pritchard Avenue and McKenzie Street.
   
Occupants from the vehicle fled on foot and were tracked to a residence in the 700 block of Redwood Avenue by members of the K-9 unit.
   
Two officers from the damaged cruiser car were transported to hospital but have since been released.
   
A number of suspects are in custody and the investigation is on-going by detectives from the Major Crimes Unit.
