Suspicious Person R17-0013717
Public Advisory:
On February 19, 2017 at approximately 1:50 p.m., a small group of teenage girls were shopping inside a mall located in the 1200 block of St. Mary's Road when they observed an unknown male following them. The male continued to follow the group so closely that the girls entered a store with the hope to evade him.
Just outside a store, still within the mall, the male appeared to have sprayed or otherwise deposited an unknown substance on the clothing of one of the girls.
The suspect remained in the area for a brief period of time before fleeing. The girls were not injured as a result of the incident.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service were contacted and a report was made.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 40-50 years old, 5'7"- 5'8" tall, heavy build, wrinkled weathered-looking face and wearing a flat-style blue felt hat with a small brim and blue plaid jacket.
Members of the Sex Crimes Unit have been notified and continue to investigate. Anyone with further information regarding this incident/suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
