Child Abuse Imagery Arrest - R16-62494
On August 24, 2016, the Winnipeg Police Service Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), with the assistance of the Child Abuse Unit, the Tactical Support Team and Investigators from East District General Patrol, arrested a suspect in a child pornography investigation.
   
Daniel KAMENICKY, 39 years, of Winnipeg, was charged with the following offences:
   
  Make Child Pornography
  Possess Child Pornography
  Distribute Child Pornography
  Voyeurism
   
Kamenicky was detained in custody.
   
The Winnipeg Police Service was alerted by the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children that between June 13, 2016 and August 11, 2016, local IP addresses were being utilized to upload images and videos of child pornography. This information was forwarded to the Winnipeg Police Service I.C.E. (Internet Child Exploitation) Unit at which time an investigation commenced.
   
Investigators executed a search warrant on August 24, 2016, resulting in the seizure of numerous electronic devices leading to the above noted charges.
   
The accused works as a children's entertainer operating a magic show under the name of 'Magic Dan.'
   
This investigation is continuing by members of the WPS Integrated Child Exploitation Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-3296 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
   
   
   
   
Robbery Arrest – C16-176938
On August 25, 2016 at approximately 7:15 p.m., a 38 year old male and 34 year old female were outside a business located in the 300 block of Portage Avenue when they were confronted by an unknown male.
   
The suspect initially asked if they were interested in purchasing some stolen property, which they declined. The suspect then produced a knife and demanded their property. During the altercation, both victims sustained non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled with their property which caught the attention of two witnesses.
   
The suspect was pursued and the victim's property was recovered.
   
Patrol members, including Canine responded. The suspect was located and arrested in the first 100 block of Albert Street.
   
Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit continued the investigation.
   
Lee Grant BOUCHER, 36 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
   
  Robbery
  Aggravated Assault
  Assault with a Weapon
  Uttering Threats
  Possession of a Weapon
   
He was remanded into custody.
