Homicide Investigation – C16-80056
The Winnipeg Police Service is currently investigating a homicide in the 500 block of Redwood Avenue. Investigators have been at this location since approximately 10:00 a.m. on April 23.
   
The victim was an adult female in her mid-thirties. The victim's identity will not be released at this time.
   
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-7983 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
   
Residential Robbery Investigation – C16-80533
On April 24, 2016, at approximately 12:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a residential robbery in the 200 block of Arlington Street.
   
Police were able to determine that a number of suspects had gained entry to a residence on this block. The suspects were armed, and a firearm was discharged within the residence.
   
One adult male sustained an upper-body injury and was conveyed to hospital. The victim is currently in stable condition.
   
The suspects fled prior to police arrival. Descriptions are not available at this time.

Fire Investigation – Update C16-79950
As previously released, on April 23, 2016, at approximately 3:45 a.m. emergency personnel responded to a working fire at a new residential construction site located on the south-west corner of Maryland Street and Westminster Avenue.
   
Six victims who were treated for injuries as a result of the fire have all been released.
   
The investigation has now led to a combined damage estimate for all properties of $4.5 million.
   
The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated by members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service – Fire Investigations Branch, and the Winnipeg Police Arson Unit. Witnesses have reported that two suspects were observed in the area shortly before the fire broke out at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Fire Investigation – Update C16-79950
As previously released, on April 23, 2016, at approximately 5:45 a.m. emergency personnel responded to a report of a multiple garage fire in the one hundred block of Chestnut Street.
   
An on-going investigation by members of the Winnipeg Police Arson Unit and the Office of the Fire Commissioner has determined that the fire was in fact, arson. Damage has now been estimated at $80,000.
