Serious Assault Investigation C16-62624 On Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Winnipeg Police general patrol units responded to a report of an assault that had just occurred in the vicinity of Portage Avenue and Vaughan Street. Officers located an injured 19 year-old male victim on the sidewalk.
The victim was conveyed to hospital by Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services, where he remains in critical, but stable condition.
At this time, no arrests have been made.

Commercial Robbery Investigation C16-62473 On Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at approximately 1:00 p.m., Winnipeg Police general patrol units responded to a report of commercial robbery in the 1100 block of Main Street.
A male suspect had entered a business armed with a weapon and demanded money from the employee. The suspect fled the location with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries.
The suspect is described as: Caucasian male, 25 to 30 years of age, very thin build, sunken cheeks, pock-marked complexion, wearing a grey-coloured zip-up hoodie.

Firearm Investigation C16-62278 On Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m., District 3 general patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the vicinity of Main Street and St. John's Avenue. At the time of the traffic stop the passenger of the vehicle fled on foot.
Officers were able to apprehend the passenger after a brief foot chase. During the arrest officers recovered a loaded, .22 calibre sawed-off rifle. The driver of the vehicle was able to flee the area.
A 17 year old male youth was charged with Firearms Offences x 10 and 2 breaches of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was detained in custody.
