Commercial Robbery Arrest – C15-244359
As previously released- At approximately 12:45 a.m., on November 20, 2015, emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of BurrowsAvenue and Keewatin Street for the report of commercial robbery.

The investigation has revealed that an armed male suspect confronted security officers with a large knife. This confrontation resulted in one of the officers discharging his firearm and striking the suspect.  

The injured officer was treated and released from hospital. The suspect has been identified as Kim Curtis LAZARUK, 36-years-old. He is in stable condition.

LAZARUK has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Robbery
Disguise with Intent
Possession of a Weapon

The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with further information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).


Commercial Robbery Arrest – C15-249093
On November 26, 2015 at approximately 2:20 p.m., a 16-year-old male attended to a liquor store located in the 1000 block of Main Street while armed and concealing his identity.

Once inside the business, the youth confronted security staff, including several patrons with a handgun.

The suspect robbed the business of merchandise, including a patron of personal property.

The suspect fled and members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded. At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers located the suspect in the area of the riverbank near the Redwood Bridge and placed him under arrest.

The male was turned over to members of the Major Crimes Unit.

He has been charged with the following and remanded into custody:

Armed Robbery using a Firearm x 3
Disguise with Intent
Possession of a Weapon
Use of Firearm during Commission of an Indictable Offence
Pointing a Firearm x 6
Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
