Robbery Investigation – Public Assistance Requested – R15-76751
On September 23, 2015, late in the afternoon, a 25-year-old male was riding a city transit bus in the area of Lakewood Boulevard.  

While sitting, the male was listening to music with his ear buds on. It was at this time an unknown male passenger approached the victim claiming his music was too loud. The suspect then grabbed the victim's ear buds indicating that he was taking them before exiting the bus.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, in his early 20's, large build, over 6"0" tall, tattoos on both arms, wearing a grey t-shirt and blue jeans.  



The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is encouraged to contact Detectives at 204-986-2857 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477). 


Drug Investigation Arrest – C15-228004
On October 29, 2015, members of the East District Community Support Unit and Crime Unit, with the assistance of Community Support Unit members from Division 11 and West District, the Tactical Support Team and Canine Unit became involved in a drug investigation in relation to a residence located in the 200 block of Park West Drive.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers located and arrested Kevin GENIK, 26-years-old in relation to the drug investigation.

At approximately 8:55 p.m., officers executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at the previously mentioned home on Park West Drive. The following was located and seized:

1 kilogram of cocaine – estimated street value $65,000.00
13.8 pounds of marihuana – estimated street value $35,000.00
2 pounds of psilocybin (mushrooms) – estimated street value $4000.00
2 pounds of hash – estimated street value $8000.00
6.17 ounces of MDMA – estimated street value $3100.00
208 x 40mg Oxycontin – estimated street value $8320.00
74 x 60 mg – Hydromorphone – estimated street value $1850.00
Benzocaine – estimated street value $3350.00
Procaine – estimated street value $4650.00
$9740.00 Canadian currency
Other drug related paraphernalia

The total amount of drugs seized is estimated at $133,270.00



Also located and seized is the following:

Loaded Ruger handed
Mossberg Maverick shotgun
Black Forge Assault Rifle and ammunition

Kevin GENIK, 26-years-old, Brett Ryan LEBLEU, 24 years-old, a 27-year-old female and 37-year-old male are facing numerous drug and weapon related offences.

Two of the accused have been remanded into custody and the remaining released on a promise to appear.


Assault with a Weapon Arrest – C15-228277
On October 29, 2015, sometime after 7:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the 300 block of Simcoe Street regarding a stabbing incident.

The investigation has revealed that two males known to each other became involved in an argument after consuming a quantity of liquor.

A 23-year-old male was stabbed in the upper body by a 25-year-old male. The victim is in stable condition and Allen Thomas MURDOCK, 25-years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Aggravated Assault
Possession of a Weapon

He was remanded into custody.
