Festive Season Checkstop Program - Week #4 Results
The Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Unit has provided the results from the fourth week of the Festive Season Check Stop Program. 
 
167 - Vehicles stopped
25 - Approved Screening Device (ASD) tests administered
2 - ASD Fails
7 - Drive Impaired / Drive Over 80mg% / Refusal charges
22 -Traffic related Provincial Offence Notices (PON) issued
 
The Winnipeg Police Service encourages all motorists to have a plan in place before you go out. Taking a cab, contacting Operation Red Nose or simply identifying a designated driver, are some options to consider. Also available on New Year's Eve is Winnipeg Transit's Free Ride program: http://ow.ly/GygQr
 
The message is simple, if you choose to drink, DON'T DRIVE.
