Male Suspect Dies In Police Custody – C14-104995
On May 22, 2014 members of the Winnipeg Police Service arrested a 40 year old male in connection to a disturbance that had occurred earlier that day.
 
The male was transported to the District 3 station and placed in an interview room where he later suffered a medical emergency.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition.  On May 26, 2014 the male passed away.  Family has been notified and his name is not being released.
 
Pursuant to Service Policy, the investigation is being led by the Homicide Unit and involved officers have been placed on Administrative Leave.
