Break-In Investigation Arrest – C14-108872
Between April 24, 2014 and May 27, 2014, a male suspect became involved in a crime spree where several homes were broken into. These incidents are as follows:
 
April 24 – residence on Braemar Avenue – various property stolen
April 24 – residence on Enfield Crescent – extensive damage caused and property stolen
May 8 – residence on Lyndale Drive – various property stolen
May 9 – Ford Ranger truck stolen from Furby Street
May 9 – Attempt break-in to residence on Rue Youville – damage caused
May 9 – residence on Enfield Crescent – damage caused and property stolen
May 21 – suite on Furby Street – property and cash stolen
 
On May 27, 2014 at approximately 4:10 a.m., the male suspect attended to a residence located on Seven Oaks Place. A large quantity of property was stolen from the home while the residents were asleep. A vehicle associated to the residence was also stolen and the suspect fled the area.
 
A short time later, the suspect was observed by witnesses operating the stolen vehicle in the area of Crystal Avenue and St. Thomas Road.
 
Patrol members responded. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody.
 
Members of the East District Crime Unit continued to investigate.
 
Kerry COUSINEAU, 48 years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Break Enter & Theft – Dwelling House x 6
Break Enter & Commit – Place
Break & Enter with Intent – Dwelling House
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Theft of Motor Vehicle
HTA – Drive without a License
 
He remains in custody.
 
 
Stolen Vehicle Arrests – R14-38146
Sometime between May 25 & 26, 2014, a 2011 Toyota Rav4 was stolen from the area of Edenwood Place involving several suspects.
 
On May 28, 2014, at approximately 1:05 a.m., the suspects, while operating the stolen SUV broken into a shed on Malcana Street. The suspects were observed by an area resident as they fled in the vehicle. Nothing was stolen.
 
Moments later, Patrol members observed the stolen vehicle and occupants travelling southbound on Roch Avenue. The suspects fled and abandoned the vehicle in the area of Jamison Avenue and Trueman Street.
 
A 22 year-old female and 17 year-old male were arrested at the scene as a result of being tracked by members of the Canine Unit with the assistance of Patrol and Air1.
 
Later the same day, a 16 year-old female and 18 year-old male were located and arrested.
 
All four are facing or have been charged with the following:
 
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Break & Enter with Intent
 
The 17 year-old male has also been charged with the following:
 
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
Fail to Comply with Disposition
Driving while Disqualified
 
The 16 and 22 year-old were released on a promise to Appear. The 17 and 18 year-old were remanded into custody.
