Commercial Robberies Arrest – C14-83600
Since the beginning of April, 2014 the Winnipeg Police Service has received the report of several commercial robberies.  They include:

  • April 2, 2014 in the 2300 block of Ness Avenue
  • April 4, 2014 in the 2300 block of Ness Avenue
  • April 6, 2014 in the 2400 block of Portage Avenue
  • April 11. 2014 in the 2300 block of Ness Avenue
  • April 24, 2014 in the 2000 block of Pembina Highway
  • April 25, 2014 in the 400 block of River Avenue
  • April 25, 2014 in the 2200 block of Pembina Highway
  • April 25, 2014 in the 2200 block of Pembina Highway

In each of the incidents the suspect either produced a weapon or implied that he had one.  In all but one, the suspect obtained undisclosed amounts of monies.
 
No one was injured during any of the incidents.
 
On April 25, 2014 at approximately 8:00 p.m. the suspect attended to a business in the 700 block of Portage Avenue where he approached the clerk, demanding money.  When the clerk refused, the suspect left the business after which police were contacted.
 
Several police units attended and the suspect was located and arrested without incident in the immediate area.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
 
John Victor Andrew MUNROE 30 years has been charged with numerous robbery related offences for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
UPDATE:   Teanna Beaton has been safely located.

MISSING PERSON – Teanna BEATON - R14-30098
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing 14 year-old female, Teanna BEATON.
 
BEATON was last seen rollerblading on the evening of April 25, 2014, in the West End of the city.
 
BEATON is described as: Metis, fair skin, 5'2" tall, approximately 150 pounds with long blonde hair in a French braid.   BEATON was last seen a white tank top with design of girl on front, hip length burgundy pleather jacket, black jacket, black eyeglasses.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service is concerned for BEATON'S well-being.
 
Anyone with any information regarding BEATON'S whereabouts is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.
