GROW OPERATION – ARREST   R13-95983
On December 27, 2013 at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of the Marihuana Grow Operation Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and East and West District Patrol members executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 900 block of Aldgate Road.
 
A 39 year-old female was located inside and arrested.
 
A search of the home revealed the following:
 
155 Marihuana plants – estimated street value $173,600.00
60 lbs. dried packaged marihuana – estimated street value $150,000.00
Grow operation equipment – valued at $27,000.00.
Small amount of cash
 
The 39 year-old female is facing the following charges:
 
Produce a scheduled substance – marihuana
Possess of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking – marihuana
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime
Theft of electricity or gas
 
She was released on a Promise to Appear. 
 

RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY INVESTIGATION   C13-265851
On December 27, 2013 at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 400 block of Boyd Avenue regarding a residential robbery incident involving two suspects.
 
The suspects forced their way into the home at which time they confronted and assaulted two occupants, an adult male and female. The victims were robbed and the suspects fled. Injuries sustained are non-life threatening.
 
The suspects are described as: Male, late teens, fair complexion, 6'00" tall, thin builds and wearing dark clothing.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
ROBBERY INVESTIGATION – ARRESTS   C13-265609
On December 27, 2013 at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a robbery incident involving two victims, a 49 year-old female and 46 year-old female.  
 
The victims were walking in the area of Boyd Avenue and Powers Street when they were confronted by two male suspects. The suspects demanded their property at which time both victims were pushed to the ground. During the altercation, both victims were stabbed.
 
The 49 year-old-victim was stabbed and later transported from the scene in critical condition. She has since been upgraded to stable condition.
 
The 46 year-old-victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. She was robbed of personal property.
 
The suspects fled the area on foot.
 
Due to the efforts of Air1, Canine Unit and Uniform Patrol, both suspects were located and arrested in the area a short time later.
 
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit continued with the investigation.
 
Damian MCKAY, 24 yearshas been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement: Robbery with a Weapon x 2, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Disguise with Intent and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
A 17 year-old male has been charged with the following offences: Robbery with a Weapon x 2, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Disguise with Intent.
 
He was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
