Saturday, August 31, 2013 ASSUALT – C13-175431 On Saturday, August 31, 2013 at approximately 1:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 1st 100 block of Nevens Bay for the report of a disturbance.   Attending members learned that an eighteen year old male suffering from upper body injuries sustained during an assault had been transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.   Investigation has revealed that several people were in attendance at a party when two of the partygoers became involved in a verbal altercation.  The altercation turned physical, resulting in the victim sustaining his injuries.   Several people are currently being interviewed and the investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.  Anyone who has information regarding this incident and has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6508 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).     ASSAULT WITH WEAPON ARREST – C13-175451 On Saturday, August 31, 2013 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to the 400 block of Main Street for the report of a fight.   Attending members located an adult male suffering from stab wounds to the lower body.  He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.   The suspect was held by security until police arrived at which time he was arrested without further incident.   Investigation revealed that security personnel were escorting a male out of the establishment when he produced a weapon and stabbed the victim.   A 29 year old male from Winnipeg is facing a charge of Assault with A Weapon for his alleged involvement.  He has been released on a Promise to Appear.     For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Detective Sergeant Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Phone: (204) 986-3061 | Fax: (204) 986-3267 | Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca Share this mailing with your social network by clicking on the appropriate link:       Related Winnipeg Police Service Report a Crime Online Crime Stoppers CrimeStat Unsubscribe If you do not want to receive these emails anymore, unsubscribe.
