ATTEMPT MURDER ARREST – C13-109756
On Friday, June 7, 2013 shortly before 5:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 600 block of College Avenue for the report of sound of shots.
 
Responding members learned that a verbal dispute between two parties had occurred earlier in the evening.  One of the parties had left and then returned a short while later at which time a male produced a firearm and shot at their vehicle, striking it several times.  The driver and his female passenger fled.  Neither was injured during the incident.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit and as a result a male suspect was identified.  On June 27, 2013 the accused was located and arrested.
 
Jason BAKER 19 years of Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Attempted Murder while Using Firearm x 2
  • Discharge Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life x 2

 He was detained in custody at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
The investigation is still on-going and no further information is available.
