Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Sunday, January 27, 2013     UPDATE - ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON - ARREST C13-17324 As previously released - on January 26, 2013 at approximately 5:50 a.m., Uniform Patrol members responded to the 300 block of Alfred Avenue regarding the report of a stabbing incident.   Attending members located a 29 year old male victim with injuries consistent with being stabbed. He was transported from the scene in critical condition. The victim is now in stable condition. A second male, also 29 years of age fled the area in a vehicle.      Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.   The investigation has revealed that the two males are known to one another and that they became involved in a verbal dispute. The matter escalated at which time a physical altercation erupted in front of a residence in the area.
