DRUG INVESTIGATION - ARRESTS C13-16412
On January 24, 2013 members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit became involved in a drug investigation which led them to the Rail Station located in the 100 block of Main Street.
 
At approximately 10:35 p.m., officers located and seized the following drugs and cash located in a baggage car.
 
50 lbs. of Marihuana – estimated street value $150,000.00
$2400.00 Canadian currency
 
Two males from the Ontario area were identified and placed under arrest.
 
Allan Norman CASWELL, 24 years and Christopher Mario MAZZUCA, 22 years have been charged with the following offences due to their alleged involvement:
 
Trafficking in Controlled Drug or Substance
Possessing Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking
Possess Proceeds of Crime
 
Both males were detained.
 
 
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION- ARREST C11-163824
As previously released, on Friday, August 5th, 2011 at approximately 2:35 a.m., Winnipeg Police Service Members responded to the area of Stradbrook Avenue and Osborne Street for reports of a fight involving a large number of persons.
 
Upon arrival, officers located an injured adult male who had been stabbed.  Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
The victim has been identified as Baljinder Singh SIDHU, 27 years of Winnipeg
 
A lengthy investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit.  
 
Zeljko Mikic, 24 years of age has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder due to his alleged involvement.
 
He has been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
 
 
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION C13-15964
On January 24, 2013, at approximately 4:25 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence located in the 500 block of Kylemore Avenue regarding suspicious circumstances.
 
Attending members continued with their investigation which led them to a second address located in the first 100 block of Pear Tree Bay.
 
Officers have since located an adult female deceased in a vehicle. The cause of death is unconfirmed at this time, autopsy results are pending.
 
Interviews are on-going by members of the Homicide Unit.
 
Notifications are pending.
