Saturday, December 22, 2012   Please note: 17 year old female was arrested. ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON – ARREST C12-256952 On December 21, 2012, at approximately 7:55 p.m., WPS members responded to a residence located in the 900 block of Lipton Street regarding a stabbing incident.   Uniform Patrol members and other emergency personnel responded and located a 21 year old female suffering from serious injuries as a result of being stabbed and physically assaulted.   The investigation has revealed that the victim and her 17 year old sister became involved in a verbal dispute. The altercation escalated at which time the victim was stabbed and assaulted.   The victim was transported from the scene in critical condition, later upgraded to stable condition.   Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit were notified and continued with the investigation.   The 17 year old female was arrested at the scene and charged with the following offences: Aggravated Assault, Assault and Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.      For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
