Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Monday, December 24, 2012 UPDATE - STABBING – C12-243335 As previously released- on December 2, 2012 at approximately 2:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 400 block of Boyd Avenue regarding a stabbing incident.   Attending members located a 24 year old female with serious upper body injuries. She was transported from the scene in critical condition.   A 17 year old female also sustained minor injuries as a result of the confrontation.   The victim is identified as Samantha Cherish ANDERSON.  She has since succumbed to her injuries.    Shayla Elyshia June WOODFORD, 21 years had been charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, including several Breaches of Probation.  She is now facing an additional charge of Murder.     For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
