STRONGARM  ROBBERY - C12-148763
On Sunday, July 29, 2012 at approximately 12:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 200 block of Bowman Avenue regarding for the report of a strongarm robbery.
 
The investigation revealed that at approximately 11:30 p.m., the 32 year old male victim was in the area of Midwinter Avenue and Levis Street when he was approached by two male suspects armed with firearms.
 
The suspects demanded and received personal property from the victim.  The victim was threatened with bodily harm though no assault occurred.
 
The victim was able to flee the scene and contact police.
 
The suspects are described as following:
 
·        Suspect #1: Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 5'10" tall, 180 pounds, long black hair in a pony tail, moustache/beard, tattoo on chest, approximately 45 years of age
 
·        Suspect #2:  Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 6' tall, 225 – 250 pounds, long black hair in a ponytail, tattoos on both arms, approximately 40 years of age
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crimes Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2857 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
FIRE – C12-148735
On Saturday, July 28th, 2012 at approximately 11:00 p.m. emergency services personnel were dispatched to the 400 block of Seaton Avenue in regards to a working fire.
 
Two occupants were in the residence at the time of the incident. A 67 year old female was transported to hospital in critical condition. A 43 year old male was transported to hospital in unstable condition. Both have since been upgraded to stable condition.
 
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the investigation is continuing by members of the Arson Strike Force. Damage is estimated at $125.000.
 
 
FIRE – C12-148780
On Sunday, July 29th, 2012 at approximately 12:00 a.m. emergency services personnel were dispatched to the 600 block of Maryland Street in regards to a working fire.
 
Five occupants were in the residence at the time of the incident. A 53 year old male was transported to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition.
 
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the investigation is continuing by members of the Arson Strike Force. Damage is estimated at $60.000.
