GRAFFITI ARREST R12-61088
On April 12, 2012 members of the East District Community Support Unit entered into an investigation regarding graffiti in the St Boniface area. During the investigation police identified over 100 spray painted tags of "Carot" on city property, private businesses and residences.
 
 
 
As a result of the investigation members of the Tactical Support Unit executed a search warrant on July 27, 2012 in the 100 block of Aubert St. 
 
Police arrested and charged 19 year old, Jovain Hildebrand, with Mischief Under $5000 x 43, Mischief Over $5000 and Possess Controlled Substance. 
 
Police are asking members of the public to contact the Winnipeg Police East District Community Support Unit at 986-2860 if your property has been vandalized with the following graffiti, "Carot", "Urban Graff King" or "UGF".
 
FINANCIAL ROBBERY ARREST – C12-71328
On Friday, April 20, 2012 at approximately 1:20 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a financial institution in the 2200 block of McPhillips Avenue regarding the report of a robbery.
 
Investigation had revealed that at approximately 1:00 p.m. a lone male had entered the business, attended to the counter and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash the male fled the business.
 
On Thursday, July 26, 2012 the accused turned himself in to police.
 
Gordon Elijah Muller MACKINTOSH, 22 years, of Winnipeg was arrested and detained in custody. He has been charged with the following offences:
 
  • Robbery with Weapon
  • Disguise with Intent


FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLSION – C12-147624
On Friday, July 27, 2012 at approximately 8:30 p.m. emergency services responders were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision that had just occurred in the area of Sackville Street and Bruce Avenue. 

Upon arrival officers learned that the two vehicles had been involved in the collision. The occupants on one of the vehicles, an 80 year old male and 79 year old female were transported to hospital. The 80 year old male has since succumbed to his injuries. His name will not be released.
 
There were no other reported injuries. 
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit. Police are requesting that anyone who witnessed the collision, and has not yet spoken with officers, is asked to contact the Traffic Unit at 204-986-6271.
 
 
STABBING INVESTIGATION - C12-147672
On Friday, July 27, 2012 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Uniform Members along with emergency medical responders were dispatched to the 700 block of Main Street regarding a stabbing incident. 

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who had been stabbed in the upper body. 
 
Paramedics transported the male to the hospital in stable condition.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
MALE SHOT - C12-148008
On Saturday, July 28, 2012 at approximately 3:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service Members were dispatched to the 2300 block of McPhillips Avenue regarding the report of a male shot. 
 
Attending officers met with a 27 year old male who had upper body wounds consistent with having been shot by a firearm. 
 
No arrests have been made.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
